It has been an amazing year for 14-year-old Australia’s Got Talent winner, Jack Vidgen, and he will top off 2011 with his first performance on stage in front of an audience of 80,000 at Woolworths Carols in the Domain. Jack will join season veterans in his first carols, with Toybox, Damien Leith and Melinda Schneider all joining in on the celebration.
“It has been an amazing year for me and what a way to finish it, performing for 80,000 people. I am still a big kid and I love Christmas. This will be very special for me and my family,” said Jack.
Jack has just released his debut album Yes I Am, featuring his favourite covers, including “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston, Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” and “I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” from the Dreamgirls soundtrack. All tracks that won the admiration of judges and fans alike on Australia’s Got Talent. The Album also features two original tracks: “Yes I am” and “Fly”, both of which Jack co-wrote.
“The songs on the album are songs I have grown up singing. I have performed them in eisteddfods and talent shows. To be able to record them in the studio is amazing,” explained Jack.
Jack is focusing his career on developing inspirational music that sends positive messages to his audiences.
“Christmas is such a fun and exciting time and I am looking forward to some down time with my family after a really busy year,” said Jack.
Australia’s Got Talent judge Brian McFadden, is looking forward to performing alongside Jack at this year’s event. "Jack Vidgen is a superstar. It will be fantastic to perform on the same stage as him. He certainly has talent,” said Brian.
