UK superstar Katherine Jenkins will join the cast of Australia's largest free public event Woolworths Carols in the Domain on Saturday 19th December, broadcast nationally on the Seven Network.
Establishing herself as one of the biggest names in international classical music, Katherine Jenkins has sold more than 3 million albums worldwide. She will take to the stage at The Domain as part of her Australian visit to promote her latest album, Believe. Featuring a duet with Andrea Bocelli, a collaboration with André Rieu and her own rendition of Evanescence's Bring Me to Life, her latest album breaks new ground for the Welsh born
beauty.
"I've heard so many wonderful things about Woolworths Carols in the Domain. It will be the first time that I'll be visiting Australia over the festive period, and I'm really excited about seeing how Christmas is celebrated on the other side of the world," said Katherine.
She will join an impressive line up of high-profile entertainers, all singing traditional Christmas favourites. The spectacle of performance, colour and festive cheer is now a part of the Christmases of thousands of Australian families. The live event has regularly attracted crowds of more than 80,000 and last year's broadcast was watched by over 1.5 million people nationally.
Some of the artists appearing on the Carols stage will be Adam Brand, Kasey Chambers, Leo Sayer, Georgie Parker, the cast of Wicked the Musical, Australia's Got Talent winner Mark Vincent, The McClymonts and The Wiggles, who join the event for the 17th consecutive year.
"The rest of this year's line-up is still being wrapped up," said Woolworths Carols in the Domain Co Executive Producer, Shauna Kane.
"We are thrilled to have talent of the calibre of Katherine, add her own spark to this much loved event," she added.
